Veterans receiving an Honorable or General under Honorable Conditions discharge from the military are now able to get “veteran” designation on their drivers’ licenses.
That designation will ensure military veterans living in Illinois receive the services and benefits for which they are entitled, including healthcare, education and employment assistance.
This designation will come at no additional cost for first-time license applicants and license renewals. Veterans over the age of 65 can obtain an updated state ID card at no cost.
