Pontiac District 429 Board Calls Special Meeting

by Todd Wineburner

Pontiac District 429 Superintendent Jim Davis says the board may have a new administrator selected, and they'll have a special meeting on Tuesday, December 23rd. Nothing is confirmed as of yet, but Davis tells WJEZ news that the board went into closed session after its regular meeting Thursday, and they came out with the announcement that a special meeting was called. Davis says he believes they've made their selection and they're ready to make an announcement. On an appearance on WJEZ's Community Forum, Davis commended the board for the dedicated effort they've put into the search, and he says having a permanent administrator selected will be an excellent development for the district. The candidate will take over his or her responsibilities in July. Davis and district co-Superintendent Dale Adams were brought on board to fill the vacancy created when former Superintendent Kevin Lipke stepped down. You can hear our complete conversation with District 429 Superintendent Jim Davis by clicking HERE.
