Last Friday the South African magistrate presiding over the premeditated murder bail hearing for Blade Runner Oscar Pistorious finally made the decision to release him on bail. Bail was set at about $112,000 and he was released Friday afternoon. He will not appear in court again until the first part of June and the trial isn’t expected to begin until at least the end of the year, more likely into 2014.

The most recent shocking news came out that his brother Carl is also facing a homicide charge! Apparently, the charge had been dropped but was reinstated much like the lead investigator on his brother’s case who, himself, is facing seven murder charges! Brother Carl was involved in an auto collision where a woman on a motorcycle was killed. He will appear in court again in March. As a parent, can you imagine? Two sons facing such serious criminal charges? How awful!
