Two suspects in a series of residential burglaries are in custody after the holiday weekend. 21-year-old Brandan Somers and 43-year-old Gilbert Edwards, both of Pontiac, were arrested after police responded to a report of two people trying to break into a residence. Police say several residences were entered illegally at 804 N. Main, 915 N. Chicago, 752 N. Main, 920 N. Main, and 910 N. Main early Saturday morning. The two suspects were discovered by police near the intersection of Chicago and Polk and placed under arrest.

An investigation of Somers’ residence produced several items reported as stolen. Edwards was in possession of stolen property when he was apprehended. The two are charged with felony burglary and may face further charges as the investigation continues.
