22-year-old Rebecca Koltveit of rural Pontiac was fatally injured in a single-vehicle accident in icy conditions on Monday morning. Livingston County Coroner Michael Burke says the young woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident in Rook's Creek township on Livingston County Road 1800 North near 950 East. The pickup truck she was driving reportedly left the roadway after hitting an icy bridge deck, passed through a fence and the struck a tree.
Services for Rebecca Koltveit include a visitation scheduled from 4 to 8 tonight (Wednesday, 3-20) at Calvert and Martin funeral home in Pontiac, with funeral services planned at New Life Christian Center in Cornell tomorrow (3-21) at 10 a.m. Memorials in Rebecca's name can be left to her Livingston County Relay for Life team--Run for Hope, Finish for a Cure. Donors can also make a contribution to their favorite charity.
Rebecca Koltveit graduated from Pontiac Township High School in 2009. She was completing her college education at Eureka College.
