Sunday night was the History Channel’s premiere of The Bible was the biggest premiere in history on History. The series which ends Easter Sunday is produced by the husband and wife team of Mark Burnett from survivor and his actress wife Roma Downey. But there is something you should know. The story isn’t 100% accurate as we know the stories of the Bible to be. They admit they have taken liberties with costuming, settings and the narration. I watched it and I definitely struggled with it. There were times that I found it very interesting and times when I nearly fell asleep. We shall see what the second night brings as far as ratings. I predict it will be considerably less than the premiere, but night three will not be good at all.
Ellen DeGeneres has taken to her blog to write a letter to the Supreme Court urging them to reinstate gay marriage in California. She says how the four years she and her wife Portia DeRossi have been married have been the happiest of her life. Here is an excerpt of her blog. “In the words of Benjamin Franklin, "We're here; we're queer, get over it." And there's another famous quote that says "A society is judged by how it treats its weakest members." I couldn't agree with that more. No one's really sure who said it first, so if anyone asks, tell them I said it.
I hope the Supreme Court will do the right thing, and let everyone enjoy the same rights. It's going to help keep families together. It's going to make kids feel better about who they are. And it is time."
Another star has signed onto Anchorman 2. Harrison Ford will play a Tom Brokaw-type character. Poor guy gotta have something to do!
My favorite Italian-American actor Robert De Niro is going to direct a Broadway musical! Say what? Apparently, 20 years ago he bought the rights to “A Bronx Tale” written by fellow Italian Chaz Palminteri. Chaz will re-write it into a musical and Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan will do the music.
