By now you have heard that the nurse who transferred the prank phone call to Princess Kate’s nurse has committed suicide. This prank has had devastating ramifications not only for the family of the deceased, but the two Australian DJs who orchestrated the prank are grief-stricken themselves. They pulled themselves off of their own radio show indefinitely, but then the station they work for terminated the show and has set up a strict policy of No Prank Phone Calls! It’s important to note that the two of them used purposefully bad accents when they pretended to be Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth.
What are we Americans watching on television these days? It seems we have begun to lose our interest in talent shows as the ratings for all that are currently airing are down significantly! The Voice, America’s Got Talent and the X-Factor have seen audiences turn away and even Dancing with the Stars is contemplating only airing one season per calendar year instead of twice. Personally, I am sick of them all! This is even the first time I have tuned out of Survivor! Survivor! My tried and true. So what am I watching, sports, of course, but I’ve turned to more sensational reality like Face Off and Ink Master and am really into the Food Network! That’s just me, but the days of me getting excited over American Idol are over.
The weekend box office numbers are in and its good news for James Bond as Skyfall climbs back up to number one! Number two was Rise of the Guardians and Twilight was down to number three. Lincoln dropped down the number four. My daughter saw Skyfall for the second time this weekend and I can’t guarantee that’s her last!
