Pontiac Schools Address Slipping Test Scores
10:07AM Wednesday
October 10, 2012

One of the primary topics at last night’s Pontiac Township High School Board meeting was student achievement, and declining figures are causing some concern. School guidance chair Lisa Meyer presented a detailed report that showed student achievement lagging in some areas. District 90 Superintendent Jon Kilgore says test scores are important tools, but high test scores aren’t the district’s ultimate goal. Kilgore says the district is interested in providing students with positive experiences that will help motivate them to be involved with their school, and prepare them for future studies and careers. In other business, the board approved the district’s Certified Staff Compensation Report. It’s available online at www.pontiac.k12.il.us.
