The Pontiac City Council voted last night to provide facade grants to two businesses on the square. The council approved a grant for just over 6,000 dollars to help renovate Bob and Ringo’s tavern on Madison street, and another grant was approved for LaNails at 219 West Madison. The exterior work required to restore that storefront is more extensive, and the council approved a grant for as much as 11,000 dollars. Help for obtaining these grants came through P.R.O.U.D. In other business, Major Dan Davis of the Pontiac police force was sworn in, and the council approved just over 6-thousand dollars for purchasing trees for landscaping.
