
Farming and transportation interests say the United States has neglected infrastructure too long. Matt Hart, executive director of the Illinois Trucking Association, says older, simpler systems of moving grain and soybeans to market have changed. He says moving products now is a multi-national operation involving high levels of technology. When it comes to supporting the networks that support the moving of goods—especially agricultural goods—Hart says the U.S. isn’t keeping up with the level of support found in Brazil, China, and other competing nations.
