It’s nice to know that some people still receive a cost of living raise! It’s harder and harder for companies to continue to offer that to their valued employees. This rough economy makes it difficult two fold.
1. The cost of EVERYTHING seems to increase daily!
2. Consumers are flat out consuming less! But the Federal Government isn’t gonna let that stop them!
Social Security benefits will increase 1.7% in 2013. Unfortunately, people receiving these benefits have seen the cost of the things they buy, like food and energy; go up 2% while the cost of medical care went up 4%.
That’s it? 4%? Sure seemed like more than that with the last EOB I got. And have you priced beef lately? Oh my! $18 dollars for a little roast? And get ready for more increases! Medicare hasn’t announced their increase yet and oh by the way, they are covering less already! So, are Social Security recipients happy for the increase? You bet! But come on! When are things going to level out?
