So, today is Cyber Monday which is expected to last all week. Makes sense since Black Friday started on Thanksgiving Thursday and lasted through yesterday! How big of a deal is it? The National Retail Federation said that a record 247 million shoppers visited stores and websites over the four-day holiday weekend which is actually up by 9.2% over last year. They say the average shopper spent $423 over the weekend and that collectively, we Americans spent $59.1 billion dollars! That is up over last year by 12.8%. The interesting news is this, Black Friday, the actual Friday, was down by 1.8% from last year. Many more shoppers left their Thanksgiving dishes to be done on Friday as they headed out to snag some serious deals on Thanksgiving. The Internet saw an increase in sales as well, with many stores giving the same door buster deals online, some with free shipping!
