The biggest entertainment news of all! Star Wars genius George Lucas sold his mega-franchise to Disney for $4 billion dollars! I totally would have paid $5 billion for it, but whatever! Anyway as a die hard Star Wars geek I must say that I am shocked at this transaction! Lucas was one of those filmmakers that fought and fought to have control over his ideas and the fact that he sold it just boggles my mind. Lucas is an unbelievable innovator! He has done more for the movie-making industry than probably one single guy ever, in history! Do you get the impression that I have a little crush on George?

Adding to the news, we learn that Disney is planning to make a seventh film. Hmmm…how do I feel about that? Curious, but concerned. I just don’t see where they can go without compromising the integrity of the story and a Disney touch? I just don’t know.
