On my way into work this morning and I stopped on the bridge to take a closer look at the Vermilion and see just where the water level is. We have gotten upwards of 2” of rain in the past week with a possibility of 4 more by the time this system moves out, but so far so good. The Vermilion is sitting at 9’ right now and flood stage is 14’, so we have a little wiggle room. Very little. Not to mention, farmers need to get into their fields which is impossible right now with water standing in most fields around the county. Not to mention, have you noticed your lawn lately?
