Dennis Wenger of Fairbury is the winner of this year’s Farm Free drawing. Wenger farms and also works for Stoller International when time allows, and he says winning the prize is a great boost to his operation. Wenger says that last year’s drought was hard on everybody in farming, so he appreciates the help provided by the Farm Free grand prize. Wenger entered at the First State Bank of Forrest and he walks away with seed for 50 acres of corn, 50 acres of beans, chemicals for that same acreage, and the use of a tractor for a growing season. This year’s event was the 21st of its kind in Livingston County and sponsors included Brandt in Fairbury and Gridley, Chatsworth Ag, Crop Production Services in Dwight, Fairbury, Pontiac, and Saunemin, First Farm Credit Services in Pontiac, First State Bank of Forrest, Kelly, Sauder, Rupiperin Lacon, Pontiac, and Streator, Pontiac Flying LLC, Potter Insurance in Pontiac, and Route 66 Tire and Auto in Dwight.
