A van caught fire near Chenoa and caused a serious traffic disruption during the morning commute today (10/18). Traffic on Interstate 55 south was completely stopped for the better part of an hour. Police and fire officials responded and brought the blaze under control, and the highway was cleared by about 8 o'clock. There's no word currently on injuries or damage. Reports at one point suggested that the traffic snarl stretched for miles.
