The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, Fairbury Police, and Illinois State Police responded just after 7 this morning to a single-vehicle accident that occurred on Route 24 between Fairbury and Forrest. Several hogs were killed when the truck transporting them left the roadway. The driver of the truck was treated for minor injuries and waived the option of being taken for further medical attention. The accident is under investigation. Traffic wasn’t interrupted, and Fairbury police officer Phillip Traylor says only the truck involved sustained any significant damage.
