Fairbury firefighter dies after battling fire
Fairbury firefighter dies after battling fire
A Fairbury firefighter is dead after battling a house fire in Forrest last night. The Livingston County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the person. Officials say the firefighter was killed after the floor gave out in a burning house in the 300 block of West Watson Street in Forrest. Another firefighter suffered only minor injuries. The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire at the two-story home of Todd and Judy Somers, which was heavily damaged. It took firefighters from numerous departments about two hours to contain the blaze.
