Skull found in Vermillion River
Skull found in Vermillion River
Livingston County Coroner Mike Burke and Pontiac Police are trying to figure out how the remains of what appears to be a human skull ended up in the Vermillion River. Fishermen discovered the bones along the river Wednesday night near the Mill Street dam. The bones have been sent to a forensic pathologist for testing. Pontiac Police Major Jim Woolford says it could be a while before authorities know more. In a statement issued Wednesday, Burke says the skull could have been carried downstream during the flooding earlier this year. The skull reportedly showed signs of environmental wearing or weathering.
