State: Cause of house fire 'undetermined'
State: Cause of house fire 'undetermined'
Some unanswered questions remain, after a house fire earlier this week that turned deadly for one area firefighter. The State Fire Marshal’s office says the cause of the house fire in Forrest is undetermined, although officials believe the fire to be accidental and possibly caused by an electrical problem. After fighting the fire on West Watson Street in Forrest, Fairbury firefighter Brian Munz was pronounced dead at St. James Medical Center in Pontiac.  Firemen from numerous local departments battled the house fire for hours on Tuesday night.  In an interview with WJEZ earlier this week, Fairbury Fire Chief Leroy McPherson said Munz was like a son to him. The Fairbury Fire Department is draped in black to mourn the loss. Funeral services are taking place this weekend, to honor the man people refer to as a “fallen hero.”
