Fallen fireman remembered in Fairbury
Fallen fireman remembered in Fairbury
A flag at the Fairbury City Hall flies at half-staff, as the city’s fire department is draped in black to remember a fallen firefighter. Fairbury Fire Chief Leroy McPherson says 24-year-old Brian Munz will be missed. Munz was pronounced dead at St. James Medical Center in Pontiac Tuesday night, following a house fire in Forrest. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the state fire marshal’s office. It took firefighters from numerous departments hours to contain the blaze. Funeral services for Munz are planned for Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Methodist Church in Fairbury, with a visitation planned for Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Fairbury and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
