24-year-old Fireman dies after house fire
24-year-old Fireman dies after house fire

Fairbury residents are mourning the loss of a firefighter. 24-year-old Brian Munz of Fairbury was pronounced dead Tuesday night at St. James Medical Center in Pontiac, following a house fire in Forrest. The Livingston County Coroner’s Office says an autopsy has been scheduled and no further information surrounding the death is being released. Officials say the burning house on West Watson Street in Forrest collapsed, while Munz was inside. Another firefighter suffered minor injuries. The two-story home sustained heavy damage and it took firefighters from numerous departments hours to contain the blaze. The state fire marshal is investigating the cause.
