Gridley family helping Iowa flood victims
Gridley family helping Iowa flood victims
An area family is helping out flood victims in Iowa. The Tim Schaefer family of Gridley has teamed up with St. John’s Lutheran Church in Flanagan and the Midwest Food Bank in Bloomington, to organize a drive for residents of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Amy Schaefer says her family has some ties to the area. Schaefer says they’re seeking donations of cereal, soup, macaroni and cheese, canned fruit and meat, rolls of toilet paper, paper towels and peanut butter. Drop off sites include: St. John’s Church in Flanagan, First Lutheran Church in Pontiac, or you can take the items to this weekend’s Gridley Fest Celebration during the parade on Saturday morning. All of the items will be gathered on Sunday to eventually be distributed by the Salvation Army.
