Humane Society inundated with cats
Humane Society inundated with cats
The Livingston County Humane Society is on a mission to find homes for a large number of cats and kittens. Humane Society co-founder Karen Gregory says shelters all across the U.S. are inundated with cats during the month of June. There are 75 million estimated homeless cats in the U.S. and officials say Cats have a calming effect on humans, resulting in a lower blood pressure and heart rate. The Livingston County Humane Society is located just north of Pontiac, in the village of Rowe and is open Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 10 to 4:30, Wednesday 10 to 6 and Thursday and Saturday from 10 to 2. The shelter’s phone number is: 815-844-1025.
