Pontiac prepares for kites

It’s that time again. The second annual Pontiac Kite Festival gets underway this weekend at the Pontiac Rec Plex, on Old Airport Road. The event will feature free family entertainment and plenty of kites, according to professional kite flyer Mike Kory. The Kite Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 5, with music by Land Lindstrom. Several food vendors will be on hand and kites will be on sale at the festival.
