A member of the Pontiac Grade School Board of Education is stepping down. The District 429 Board has accepted the resignation of Ed Lipinski, who resigned for personal reasons, according to Superintendent Steve Graham. Graham says the board has 45 days to find a replacement or the Regional Office of Education will step in to help after the time is up. A replacement could be named at the board’s July meeting. Also last night, the Pontiac Grade School Board learned that the state owes the district about $565,000 and only a few days remain in the fiscal year. The Fiscal Year 09 Budget has been amended to show the actual revenue and expenses for the district. The group also approved extending a transportation contract with Illinois Central School Bus.
