Pontiac plans upgrades to crosswalk
Pontiac plans upgrades to crosswalk
The City of Pontiac plans to upgrade the crosswalk at the intersection of Ladd and Howard Streets. In March, the city was contacted by a visually impaired citizen that has difficulty crossing the street. He has asked the city for help in making it safer for him to cross Ladd Street. The city council has voted to spend over $2,000 to install an audible device that would notify a visually impaired person when it’s safe to cross the street. City Administrator Bob Karls says it’s an example of the city accommodating the needs of its residents. Kelly Electric has been working with the city to develop the idea.
