A fire at Pontiac’s Interlake facility reportedly started in the ventilation system of a steel roll machine.

Pontiac Fire Chief Jacob Campbell says crews were called Thursday at 7:06 a.m. to Interlake Mecalux at 701 North Interlake Drive.

Employees evacuated the building and crews put out the fire in about 30 minutes. The building was turned back over to the company.

Fairbury and Cullom fire crews assisted at the scene.

No one was injured. Campbell said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
