Event for Kids Set for Saturday

By Neil Doyle

An annual event for Livingston County 4th and 5th graders is coming up this weekend.

Operation Snow Flurry is a program that offers leadership lessons and positive messages for kids, according to IHR’s Christine McMillion.

“It’s a leadership program, but on a smaller scale compared to Operation Snow Flake which is in the spring,” said McMillion.

The program is open to all Livingston County students in 4th or 5th grade whether they’re in public schools, private schools, or home schooled.

McMillion said this year’s theme is “Be the Change.” Discussion and activities will include respect, responsibility, and how to be open-minded.

Operation Snow Flurry will be held this Saturday morning at the Pontiac Boys and Girls Club. There is an admission fee. For more information, contact Christine McMillion at IHR in Pontiac at 844-6109, or check out our conversation with Christine on the podcasts page of this website.
