Humane Society Spaghetti Supper Planned

The Livingston County Humane Society is gearing up for its biggest fundraiser of the year—a spaghetti supper set for Baby Bull’s in Pontiac. Karen Gregory from the society says this year’s supper is a celebration of the Humane Society’s 21 years in the area. Proceeds from the event will pay for heating bills through the cold weather season. “We are running five furnaces continuously,” Gregory says, “and we have a heated floor that we run in our main room for our smaller animals.”

The Humane Society Spaghetti Supper is set for Thursday, October 24th from 4:30 to 7:30. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for students. Gregory says other fundraising activities will be going on that night as well, including a silent auction running from 4:30 to 6:30. Gregory says a wide variety of items has been donated including free nights at the Hampton Inn, gift cards, gas cards, craft items and more—all available for bid during the auction.

Gregory says the society is also looking for bakers to give treats to the events. Anyone interested should contact the Livingston County Humane Society Shelter at 842-1025 and leave a message.
