The man who became trapped when a hole collapsed on him in Pontiac last week has been identified.

35-year-old Jeremy Ray of Fairbury was working for Popejoy Plumbing, Heating, Electric, and Geothermal when the hole collapsed in on him.

Rescuers worked for several hours to free Ray, who was then taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, where he is currently recovering after suffering broken ribs and a broken sternum.

The incident occurred last Wednesday at 702 Countryside Lane in Pontiac.
