Many communities in Illinois are facing a shortage of qualified first responders, so OSF St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center is working to fill that void by offering Emergency Medical Responder courses.
The training is designed with flexibility in mind. Courses will be offered online, with only three in-person sessions in Pontiac. OSF St. James officials hope that structure create opportunities, even for people with demanding schedules.
The six week class runs from January to March, and applications are available online at osfhealthcare.org.
