ISBE Seeks Input

By Neil Doyle

The State Board of Education is looking for input on the state’s budget for public education. Several hearings will be held, including one in Central Illinois.

The ISBE said feedback and funding requests received at the hearings and online will inform the board’s budget recommendation that will be submitted to Gov. JB Pritzker and the General Assembly in January.

A hearing will be held Oct. 23 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Bloomington High School. The ISBE will hold other hearings in East St. Louis, Chicago, and Mount Vernon.

The agency said a greater number of hearings adds additional voices to the budgetary process.

To submit feedback a form is available online at isbe.net/budget.
