Getting Kids Back to School Means Getting Them in For Exams

By Neil Doyle

School is right around the corner and many parents may be wondering about back to school physicals.

If kids are participating in sports, a yearly physical is required. When it comes to regular check-up requirements, that varies at each school.

“The best way to find out if children need physicals on a year-to-year basis is to call the specific school to find out,” said OSF St. James Wellness Coordinator Matt Janus.

Janus said preventative health is important, so having kids get a yearly physical is a great option.

He added that parents should also make sure vaccinations are up to date before school gets underway.
