Pontiac’s Yost House Museum will be open on Saturday night (4/27) from 4 until 7 for an open house and recruiting effort. Volunteer Mark Osman has been working on the maintenance of the historic house, and he says he’s looking for others to join him. “We would like to have people come who would be interested in helping at the house in any capacity, be it a docent, maybe somebody to help clean or catalog. We need volunteers.”

Osman says there might also be opportunities for people to actually take on the roles of historic figures and recreate their presence in the home.

The Katherine V. Yost House and Museum is on Water Street in Pontiac, just east of Humiston Riverside Park. It was a private residence until the late 1980s, and all of the Yost family’s possessions have been preserved and maintained in the home.
