For the first time in 20 years, the Red Cross Bloodmobile won’t be at the Pontiac VFW the next time it comes to town.

The Pontiac Township Senior Center will be hosting the bloodmobile from now on, starting with the next blood drive on March 27.

Published reports say that coordinator Dixie Vogel is appreciative of the VFW, but is excited for the new location. Vogel says the new location will potentially draw more people, including people who don’t have appointments.

She goes on to say that the location will also be easier to find, so people might be more willing to donate.

The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the former location of the Don’s Red Fox grocery store at 601. N. Ladd in Pontiac.
