Former Pontiac School District 429 Superintendent Kevin Lipke has died.

Published reports say that officials in Horry County, South Carolina, discovered Lipke’s body in February; he had apparently hanged himself.

Lipke resigned from District 429 in early 2014 as accusations of improper conduct prompted a State Police investigation. In 2015, Lipke’s Illinois professional credentials were suspended for 5 years.

He relocated to South Carolina where he reportedly worked as a counselor. South Carolina authorities arrested Lipke in late 2017 on a charge of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor between the Ages of 11 and 14.

Prior to his time in Pontiac District 429, Lipke was an elementary school principal in Oswego School District 308.
