A new faculty position and snow days were some of the topics at the Pontiac District 90 school board meeting. Superintendent Jon Kilgore told WJEZ’s Todd Wineburner one of the presentations to start the meeting came from a new staff member. “Tammy Audia our new career and community services coordinator came to speak,” said Kilgore. “We were able to develop this position through multiple needs across the building and when we put it all together we realized this was a position we needed and were able to start it right around when the school funding formula changed.” Audia’s role consists of in-class teaching, connecting students with professionals and organizing college visits for students.

Other discussion consisted of days off due to winter weather. Kilgore said the district has taken seven emergency days and they will be made up periodically throughout the school year, not all tacked on at the end of the year.
