State Farm CEO Michael Tipsord has been named to Gov.-elect JB Pritzker’s transition team.

Tipsord was one of 37 members named to Pritzker’s Job Creation and Economic Opportunity Committee.

The committee looks to help expand, develop and rebuild small businesses around the state.

The committee is chaired by Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council President Omar Duque, Director of Research Park at the University of Illinois Laura Frerichs, Illinois Medical District CEO and Executive Director Dr. Suzet McKinney and Chicago Federation of Labor President Bob Reiter .

Other local officials who have joined Pritzker transition teams include retired judge Elizabeth Robb and Illinois State University President Larry Dietz.
