Early assessments say that 4 inches of snow fell on Livingston County early today (11/15) and the National Weather Service says there may be more coming. Most of the systems that left snow behind early this morning have moved on to other parts of the country, but the National Weather Service is leaving advisories in place because new precipitation may be on the way. Forecasters say snowfall is a possibility for the next few days as warm, moist air moves up from the Gulf of Mexico to meet cold air from Canada. It’s a classic pattern for central Illinois at this time of year. As of this post (12:30 PM on Thursday), the Illinois Department of Transportation says many roads remain at least partly snow and ice covered throughout the county.
