BLOOMINGTON – A Pontiac man is being detained in Bloomington after he allegedly threatened a police officer.

Cody Beller, 21, allegedly told a McLean County Sheriff’s Deputy “you’re next” while referencing several murders that have taken place in Bloomington since June.

Appearing in court, Beller was denied his request to be released without posting a cash bond. Associate Judge David Butler ordered Beller to pay $335 to be released, despite Beller’s assertion that if he stayed in jail, he could lose his job.
