PONTIAC – The Livingston County Boys and Girls Club is seeking sponsors for this year’s Mighty Vermilion Duck Race.

Speaking with WJEZ’s Todd Wineburner, Boys and Girls Club of Livingston County interim CEO Jodi Martin said the 25th annual duck race will be held on Saturday, July 21.

Hear Todd Wineburner speak with Jodi Martin and a special guest:

“We’re doing a couple things differently this year. One thing is that we’re having tickets and so the tickets are being sold, you can buy them at the Chamber of Commerce, you can buy them at Pope Joy’s – both in Fairbury and Pontiac – as well as the Boys and Girls Club,” said Martin. “And we’re going to be at some events. On July 3 we’ll be at the Elks Lodge, hopefully we’ll be able to put up the big duck, and then we’re looking at some other locations as well.”

Martin also said sponsorships are needed to help raise money for the Boys and Girls Club.

“Right now we’re looking for sponsorships. We’re still trying to wrap that up so we can get our banners made that we will have at all the locations,” Martin explained. “We’ll have all the sponsors on our website, so we’ll definitely acknowledge them.”

The sponsorships help fund programs the Boys and Girls Club offers, as well as scholarships that go to kids that can’t afford some of those programs.
