PONTIAC – The Livingston County Humane Society has a busy schedule from June to July.

People are invited to come out and attend a number of events the Humane Society has planned in the coming weeks. Karen Gregory with the Humane Society says a group will be coming to the Humane Society over the weekend to help the dogs get out and stretch their legs.

“This coming weekend we have the Dwight Youth Ministry coming down and they’ll be walking our dogs,” said Gregory. “Hopefully it’s not going to hit those high digits so that our dogs will, at least, have a chance to get out for a little while in the morning.”

Gregory also noted an event called the Cat’s Meow will be held on June 23, featuring a local artist selling cat collages. She mentioned the Humane Society also has another event planned for that day as well.

“We have MOPAR coming up, that is also going to be on June 23, so we’re going to be stretched to the max, but quite honestly we love very minute of it,” Gregory explained. “We’re going to be out there behind Heller’s with all of our dogs. They have an event going on from 10-4 with a $15 car registration with all proceeds coming back, which is awesome, to the Humane Society.”
