Labor Day Weekend is fast approaching and The Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce is looking ahead in the planning on Pontiac’s biggest parade.

Executive Director Mindi Terrell said this year’s theme for the Sept. 3 Thresherman’s Parade is “100 Years in the Past, 100 Years in the Future,” and they are looking for entries for the parade.

“We’ve sent out requests for people to put entries in to the parade. We’ve already got probably 10. We have people coming by the office saying they want to be in the parade this year. So, it’s going to be a lot of fun. This year, for the grand marshal, we didn’t choose a single person. What we are doing is we’re going back and inviting all the past grand marshals to participate in the parade this year. So, we’re going to get the Jolly Trolley and have all of them on the Jolly Trolley and use that as our grand marshal this year,” Terrell said.
