Continuing education classes are being offered at the Heartland Community College campus in Pontiac.

The first one starts March 1, and Becky Gropp, associate director of public information for HCC, describes the Medicare Basics class.

“This class teaches you about parts A and B, what each part covers and also talks about what your financial responsibility is. You’re also going to learn about the different plans and supplements, what are the pros and cons to each and basically what is right for you. There are also some hidden costs, not surprising there, in Medicare, so this class helps you prevent you from paying those hidden costs as long as you plan properly,” Gropp said.
